Dr. Chakmakjian is very involved at Ascension Providence, having served in numerous roles including Cancer Committee Chairman, Medical Staff President, Quality Review Committee, Medical Executive Committee, and Board Quality/Patient Experience.
Why did you become a doctor?
Being an oncologist is a privilege and great responsibility. We have a very special and trusted relationship with our patients. It is a great honor to provide medical care during a time of great distress. The field of oncology is making continued medical advances, and I enjoy being able to participate in clinical research.

Research Interest
Carl G. Chakmakjian, D.O., FACP, is a member of the US Oncology Thoracic Research Committee.
He also received the Quantum award for clinical trial accruals, which is awarded to physicians that have enrolled more than 100 patients in clinical trials.
Other Information
Dr. Chakmakjian was born and raised in Dallas, TX. He and his wife moved back to Waco in 2005 and have three daughters. They enjoy spending time and working at the ranch. He also enjoys watching college sports.
