He then completed a medical oncology fellowship at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston followed by a palliative medicine fellowship at Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin.

Prior to joining Texas Oncology, Dr. George established the medical oncology program at the Harlingen Veterans Affairs Clinic which provides cancer care for more than 50,000 U.S. veterans. After his tour, he established the medical oncology program at the Nacogdoches Medical Center.

Dr. George enjoys music, photography, cooking, and spending time with his wife, who is a practicing neurologist, as well as his three children, who are all currently medical school students.
