Over 100 Texans have become sick with measles recently. To protect our patients and staff, we ask that patients and caregivers avoid coming in to our clinics if they have been near someone with measles, have been diagnosed with measles, or have any symptoms of infection like a fever or a rash. If any of these apply to you and you have a visit booked, please contact your clinic to let them know and book a virtual visit (telehealth) instead. Learn more about how to recognize measles and what you can do to stay safe. View More Important Notifications x

Gynecology

A gynecologist may also play an important role on your gynecological cancer care team. Depending on factors like your cancer type, risk, and where you are along your cancer journey, your gynecologic oncologist may team with a board certified Texas Oncology gynecologist on your treatment plan.

A Texas Oncology gynecologist may consult with patients diagnosed with pre-invasive gynecological cancers and perform surgery on cervical, vaginal, and vulvar dysplasia—a precancerous condition involving abnormal cell growth. A gynecologist also often manages surveillance following surgery and for low-risk gynecological cancer patients. Additionally, you may visit with a gynecologist at your post-treatment survivorship appointments and related surveillance.
